THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING THE HAIR SCHEDULE
There are several factors that can change the structure of hair strands:
- Environmental factors - pollution, sea or pool water and sunlight can damage hair. Dirt particles contained in polluted air can cling to the wires and cause dryness and dullness; the salt of the sea water removes the water from the hair and the low PH of the chlorine makes the wires weak, opaque and brittle; and sun exposure degrades keratin (hair protein);
- Chemical processes - dyes, straightening and other chemical procedures done to make the look more beautiful can damage the hair, cause weakening and even hair loss;
- High temperatures - washing your hair with water at very high temperatures or using flat irons, dryers and other equipment often damage your hair. Heat denatures keratin (a protein that gives hair strength and elasticity);
- Failing to cut your hair frequently - this is a factor that can weaken your hair, it is healthy to eliminate split ends that tangle easily and can cause breakage or hinder the natural growth of hair;
- Not having a good diet - nutrients are essential for the proper functioning of the human body, the appearance of skin and hair are influenced by these nutrients. Healthy hair must be nourished from the inside out and also from the outside with hair products;
- Stress - is related to the previous item, as hair loss is one of the symptoms of stress that causes an increase in the cortisol hormone, affecting digestion and consequently the absorption of vital nutrients for hair health.
Hair schedule steps
Therefore, it is essential to have a hair care routine. The capillary schedule has actions to take care of hair and includes three treatments: nutrition, hydration and reconstruction. The capillary schedule provides a diagnosis of hair needs, indicating when it needs water, oil and strength.
Each step of the capillary schedule has a goal, like:
- Nutrition (oil needed) - protects hair from dryness. As mentioned, there are factors that attack the cuticle of the cortex, taking away important nutrients for the wires, causing dryness, frizz and weakening of the hair fiber. The protective layer of the threads is rich in lipids and serves to retain hydration and protect keratin. The objective is to restore the lipid layer and return the necessary oils to the hair;
- Hydration (needs water) - when the hair looks rough, dry and lackluster, it needs hydration. Hair hydration is responsible for replacing the water and nutrients in the hair that are lost daily, restoring the hair's moisture, making the hair more resistant, malleable and healthy. The capillary cortex is the main beneficiary of hydration;
- Reconstruction (need for strength) - the factors that damage the hair make it lose mass and leave it brittle and thin. The goal is to return the proteins and strength and keep the hair fuller.
Before starting the hair schedule, it is necessary to understand what the hair needs, there is a simple and homemade test - porosity test that consists of soaking a strand of hair in a glass of water:
- If the hair sags has high porosity - it needs reconstruction
- If the hair floats has low porosity - it needs hydration
- If the hair remains in the middle of the cup it has medium porosity - it needs nourishment

The capillary schedule needs to be carried out for at least a month so that it is possible to perceive the results and for up to 6 months, being possible to stop for 1 month and then you can return to the schedule.
